Soooo, I heard the news announcing the new requirement of the cigarettes in Singapore ! Tar and Nicotine to be lowered !
I have similar thoughts as the Chief Executive Officer of HPB ! Is it better to lower the harmfulness of smoking?
I think it's worst ! Because now more people will think that smoking is healthier now ! and it lower the risk of getting cancer and other whatever the pictures shows.
What will this lead to? More people quitting smoking? ARE YOU SURE? or Do you see more people considering to smoke especially when they need to socialise ! YES the smokers love to use social smoking.
Those who are looking to quit tend to go for the "light" label cigarette like some of my friends do. Well.. IT DOESNT WORK TOO ! If they want to quit they will ! no point putting all the labels because it doesnt matter ! What I would say is , INCREASE THE HARMFULNESS of cigarettes ! Make people know it cause a heavy impact on their body straightaway ! Just like Drugs ! Okay. that sounds too extreme but ya you get what I mean right :)
But does healthier smoking = healthier second hand smoke?
P/s : This post is not against any smoker. No offence to anyone. It's their choice to smoke :)
Racist or just the meaning of the word "Black" ?
Was having this random thought ...
Weeks ago , I went back to school for the farewell party gathering back at school, and representative for my course , Naresh went up for a speech and as usual we asked him to move infront of the projector , so that we can see him ! LOL ! Yes, he is Indian ! A great man though ! He is so used to us making fun of him that he can laugh and talk to us. Back in class, we used to off the light and shouted " Naresh , where are you ! " Those were the times haha !
So the question is, are we racist ? Or it's just the perception of the word black?
From young, parents tell us : Ehh Son, Your School Shoe BLACK already ! Go and Wash !
From young, parents tell us : Ehh Son, On the lights , it's very dark , it's bad for your eyesight when using the computer.
The meaning of black itself got a problem, and I believe as much as we make fun of Naresh, he know we are not racist towards him ( I hope ) , in fact most of us treat him as a good friend ! This kind of joke will sure be continued because of the meaning of Black ! So are we really racist if we only make jokes of them but did not look at them differently from other human beings?

Dragon 2012
As the dragon year starts, I'm turning 20 this year.. time really flies and I'm entering NS this year !
What kind of resolution this year? Nothing much? Can't really carry out my career plan due to NS.
Just really hope to spend more time with my loves one. Stay Happy . Have a healthy bank . Stay Healthy.
Looking at things with a better view? Growing up and becoming a better person. Family will be my biggest part of my life this year I hope.
